English cottage makes a kitchen baby with a moody MCM house

Let’s set the scene – it’s the 50’s, late in the evening at a pub in London. A dashing young Oxford professor comes in for a drink after a long night of research. He is immediately halted by the sight of a young woman at the bar, chic and modern but unfussy in all the right ways. He can’t resist commenting on her reading material – a book about European architecture of the 1930’s, post WWII. His knowledge on the subject proves this isn’t just a hobby – he knows his stuff. They have a pint. Then another. And then another. And this kitchen is the love child of the evening shared between an American architect and the dashing young Oxford professor.
