- Handmade by a group of artisan women who work on traditional backstrap looms
- They work as a democratic collective and elect a new group president and treasurer every
year, with orders being divided between the entire group
- The piece is first woven flat on a backstrap loom
- It’s then sewn on machine, with a cotton lining added inside
- The top features a zipper that’s roughly the same colour as the exterior/interior textile
- The strand of wool pompoms are handmade by a family of artisans who wash, card and spin
this extra soft merino wool on a traditional drop spindle
- This is a natural, undyed wool
- In addition to making pompoms, the family also crochets, knits and weaves with wool, both on
a standing traditional loom, and a backstrap loom
- The pompoms are removable and can easily be washed with other pieces
- While the bag can be washed in the machine, we’d recommend hand washing to protect the
finishes and keep the form
- The piece is not pre-washed, so it will shrink after the first wash
- Hang or lay flat to dry, do not put in the dryer
- Hot iron, if required
- The pompoms can be wiped with a damp cloth when required, as they are made from 100%
wool, they won’t require many cleanings at all
